Matrix Total Results The Re-Bond Review

For about a month, I’ve been using Matrix’s Total Results The Re-Bond system for my hair. Since, I was a teenager, I honestly never really cared what I put on my hair. I would wash with whatever was in the shower (Suave, Pantene, even Head and Shoulders!). I’ve always had somewhat thick hair that was pretty healthy for the most part. Up until recently, I noticed my hair has become a lot thinner and dry. I’ve mainly stuck with Pantene or Garnier Fructise shampoos and conditions, and also tried Joico products. Nothing really seemed to help my hair get its luster back. Maybe I should chalk it up to getting older lol, but either way, I was really anxious to try this Matrix system.

I’m going to go through my pros and cons with this system. First off, the shampoo and conditioners are not too badly priced. I am guilty of buying whatever was the cheapest in the past (this includes White Rain lol). If I even saw a hair product that was over $5.00 I would cringe. Overtime I realized that things are sometimes pricey for a reason, especially if the quality is great and it’s something that really works. The best part about the price of these is that using a little bit goes a long way. I used to go through bottles and bottles of shampoo and conditioner because my hair was so long and thick. You definitely get more bang for your buck with this system. I really don’t have to use too much to get a good lather. After using it for about 4 weeks, my hair looks shinier and feels a lot healthier.

Some cons to this system. There really isn’t a smell to them. In fact, I can’t really explain the smell. Not chemical-like but just, nothing lol. I love to have my hair smell good. But I did notice after using the system I could smell a very light fresh scent after blow drying my hair (I didn’t use any other products after the system) so maybe it’s just a hidden smell somewhere in there! Also, I felt like the conditioner had a thinner/lighter formula. I’ve always been used to thick conditioners for my hair. Both the pre-conditioner and regular conditioner still washed out good and didn’t make my hair feel heavy or too slick. I did like that the pre-conditioner was a once a week thing.

So all in all, I really did like using this hair system. It was time for me to get something that would help me get my hair back to healthy and I have seen a noticeable difference after using the Matrix Re-Bond System. It comes in a mini kit for anyone who wants to just try it for a few days to see how they like it. I’m linking the whole system as well as the mini kit below. They are all from Ulta and you get a free gift with purchase. You can also get $3.50 off a $15.00 purchase with the code 642971. Happy healthy hair is the best! Xo, Brooke

St. Patrick’s Day & All The Green

I wore this sweater the other day and had so many people asking me where I got it! St. Patrick’s Day in Cleveland is a really huge deal. Since it’s going to be cold today, this sweater is perfect to keep warm and still look fun and fashionably green! Green is my all time favorite color, so when March 17th rolls around I’m excited that I get to wear it from head to toe!

I have honestly not gone downtown for the parade or festivities in our city since I was in high school! (Senior year to be exact). I love going to events, but downtown Cleveland on St. Patrick’s Day is absolutely PACKED and pretty much insane lol. This year we decided to stay close to home with friends for some relaxing fun with the kids! One day, Pete and I want to travel to Ireland (not specifically on St. Paddy’s Day but whenever March 17th sneaks up it always reminds me that I want to go!). My brother went many years ago and said Ireland is a beautiful place and everyone there is so kind and fun, so it’s definitely on our bucket!

What are some of your favorite activities for celebrating the Irish holiday? I’d love to get some ideas from ya’ll! Xo, Brooke

GAP Friends & Family 40% Off Sale

I wanted to share this awesome GAP sale with ya’ll because they always have really cute everyday essentials for your wardrobe, including jeans, denim jackets and basic tees. Even though a big snow storm is headed our way here in Ohio, I still have major spring fever. These are all my favorites from the Friends & Family 40% off sale (which also includes 40% off of everything including sale, clearance plus free shipping!). Use code FRIEND at checkout. You’ll also score some GAP cash if you spend a certain amount.

I ordered several things above from this sale, including the cognac wedges (I also got them in the olive!) which I know will be on my feet almost the entire spring/summer season and the panama hat which is always a must for hot, humid frizzy hair days. Denim skirts are super popular for spring and especially if they are distressed (which I LOVE). Xo, Brooke

Spring Bags I’m Loving

I’ve been on the hunt for a new spring bag for the past few weeks. Here in Ohio, there aren’t many spring styles out just yet, so I’ve been searching online to find the perfect one. I came across the Tory Burch as well as a few that I am really loving (and which I all want because they’re just too dang pretty lol). Most of you know that I am a huge fan of designer bags. It’s the one thing I will spend a lot of money on. A handbag can definitely make or break an outfit. Big, structured totes are my go-to, but I also really love any kind of chain strap bags, especially the gorgeous Tory Burch I linked below. I used to own handbags in every color of the rainbow. Michael Kors always ended up in my closet, but over time I migrated to the really high-end bags (which my husband is so happy about).  Now I have 5-6 bags and I pretty much carry the same Louis Vuitton every day. Some of my favorite higher-end designers that won’t completely break the bank are Tory Burch, Rebecca Minkoff and Henri Bendel.

So, with all the searching I’ve done, I decided to share the bags I’m drooling over for when the warmer weather arrives. I’m also linking some dupes that are very similar to the high end bags at a fraction of the cost. These are all bags I would carry and most are larger sized because big bags are my jam. Now, some of you may be thinking, she’s crazy for buying lighter colored bags with kids. And to that I’ll say, yes, I am lol. If you looked at the inside of my LV right now, you’d cringe. But I am neurotic about cleaning the outside leather! I typically use a leather spray to keep my bags looking new and to get rid of all the little finger prints and marks that always show up along the way.

Which bag below is your absolute favorite? Leave a comment, I’d love to know! 🙂

Hope ya’ll have a wonderful Wednesday! Xo, Brooke

Denim OOTD + Denim Looks I’m Loving

The other day I stopped at Target and of course strolled through the clothing section (what woman doesn’t do that?). I wanted to check out the new Universal Thread line. I’ve been seeing so many commercials for it and getting a ton of emails, and I have to say after looking, I am obsessed! I’m not the biggest fan of denim tops/jackets (I own one denim shirt that I’ve worn year after year) but this new line completely changed my outlook! Denim is one thing that will never, ever go out of style and you can wear the tops and jackets so many ways.

So the denim shirt I’ve owned for about 7 years was finally time to be retired. I got this one I’m wearing from the Universal Thread line and I love how long it is and the little bit of distressing on the bottom is my fav! I’m wearing a size M and it’s roomy. You’ll definitely see me in this a lot for transitioning into spring (it would look really awesome with white jeans!).

I got a couple of other things too, including some of their jeans and I think they are my new favorite brand of denim! Stretchy, comfy and distressed perfectly. I’m sharing some of my items from the Universal Thread line as well as denim items I’m really loving right now. Happy shopping! Xo, Brooke
